Birth Warrior Workshop: Confident, Calm & Connected Birth Preparation 

Birth can feel unpredictable—but showing up informed, grounded, and capable changes everything. The Birth Warrior Workshop is a 3-hour immersive experience for Calgary moms who want real-world birth education paired with nervous system tools you’ll actually use on your birthing day. 

Co-facilitated by Sharon Loose of Calgary Birth Essentials and me, Sabina—an acupuncturist and yoga teacher—this workshop weaves together education, movement, breath, and creativity to honor your whole self as you prepare for one of life’s most transformative experiences.

Sharon Loose – Doula, Childbirth Educator, Founder of Calgary Birth Essentials 

With over 26 years supporting Calgary families through birth, Sharon knows firsthand what makes the difference. Her own first birth—marked by fear and isolation—ignited her passion to ensure no mum walks this path alone. She empowers families through hormone science, affirmations, and birth confidence practices rooted in compassion and evidence. 

Sabina – Acupuncturist & Yoga Teacher 

As a licensed acupuncturist specializing in prenatal care and registered yoga instructor, I help you tap into your body’s innate wisdom for labor and beyond. Through gentle movement, intentional breathwork, and restorative practices, I guide you toward trusting the incredible capability already within you. 

Together, we’ve created a safe, judgment-free space where questions flow freely, partners feel included, and your inner birth warrior awakens.

Understand how birth hormones—oxytocin, endorphins, adrenaline—shape your labor experience. Learn practical tools like positioning, environment tweaks, and advocacy strategies that work with your body’s natural design. 

Guided Meditation for Birth Confidence (Sharon) 

Connect with your deep inner strength through calming guided meditation. Anchor yourself in the calm that lives beneath the intensity—a resource you can return to again and again. 

45-Minute Yoga & Breathwork Session (Sabina) 

Settle your nervous system with breathwork, then flow through pregnancy-friendly yoga designed for birth preparation. We’ll focus on hip and pelvis mobility, labor-useful positions, and breath patterns you can lean on when things get intense—all adaptable to where your body is today. 

Birth Art, Affirmations & Inner Wisdom (Sharon) 

Explore the guided “maze” drawing from Birthing From Within, craft affirmations that feel true to you, and draw wisdom from spirit cards. This creative process helps surface unspoken feelings with curiosity instead of fear—powerful for both birthing mums and partners. 

Questions & Reflections 

Open space to share insights, ask anything that’s on your mind, and integrate the morning’s wisdom. Partners often find this especially valuable for processing their own hopes and concerns. 

30-Minute Yoga Nidra & Gentle Acupuncture (Sabina) 

Close with deeply restorative Yoga Nidra—”guided sleep” that melts tension, eases anxiety, and builds a felt sense of safety in your body. Paired with optional gentle acupuncture to deepen relaxation and strengthen trust in your body’s birthing wisdom.
